Bank Data Consent
Last updated: May 22, 2026
Purpose
When you connect a bank account, OPTAX uses Plaid to retrieve account and transaction data for the company you select. We use that data to import transactions, categorize records, reconcile activity, and prepare review-ready tax reports.
Data Shared Through Plaid
- Institution, account, and account-mask information.
- Transaction dates, descriptions, amounts, merchants, categories, and account IDs.
- Connection metadata needed to refresh, disconnect, audit, and troubleshoot the connection.
OPTAX does not receive your online banking password. Plaid may process your credentials or authentication factors according to Plaid's own service flow.
Consent, Scope, and Withdrawal
- Your consent applies only to the company and bank connection you approve in the product.
- You can disconnect a bank account from OPTAX; future syncs stop after disconnect.
- Previously imported records may be retained for tax, audit, support, billing, security, and compliance purposes, including up to seven (7) years for tax and related financial records where needed.
- Consent receipts record document version, company, user, timestamp, and connection metadata.
Security and Retention
Bank-connected transactions are treated as sensitive financial information. Access is tenant-scoped, audited, and subject to retention rules described in our Privacy Policy and Terms.
